This depiction was composed as part of a digital student resource, Anatomy and Physiology I: An Interactive Histology Atlas. Depicted here are several osteons, those lighter constituting a newer generation and those darker, an older generation. This composition allows visualization of the interaction between osteons, such as via perforating or Volkmann’s canals.
